26-27 Academic Year Enrolment Information is now available in the admissions area.
Pre K3 Registration
Children’s intellectual, social, emotional, linguistic, and physical development occurs naturally when they are engaged in active learning opportunities of exploration and discovery. Adults can facilitate this process, but children often grow at their own pace. For that reason, all incoming PreK 3 students must be assessed to ensure that they are academically and socially-emotionally prepared to succeed in the classroom at UCS. In addition to the above general admissions guidelines, incoming PreK 3 students must comply with the following requirements:
-
Be three (3) years of age on or before September 30th of the year in which he/she applies for entrance.
-
Be potty trained and be able to use the bathroom without assistance
-
Complete a family interview as a part of the application process. This entails the assessor having discussions with parents or legal guardians, as well as academic and social-emotional assessments that the child must complete.
-
Be registered by their parent(s) or legal guardian(s). Guardians must present proper certification of legal guardianship and, when applicable, a parent must provide a copy of any custody arrangements. If a birth certificate is not provided, the parent must complete Form 5111 F3 and submit with the specified documentary evidence. If the courts have established custody, a copy of the court order must be provided.
Kindergarten Registration
A child under age six (6) who is enrolled in kindergarten will be considered of compulsory school age and therefore must abide by the guidelines outlined by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). In addition to the above general admissions guidelines, incoming Kindergarten students must comply with the below requirements:
-
Be five (5) years of age on or before September 30th of the year in which he/she applies for entrance.
-
Submit an annual physical report that was completed no more than twelve (12) months prior to the first day of matriculation.
-
Submit evidence of matriculation at another public or private school in which the student was enrolled as a kindergartener, if the child is below the age or five (5) years of age on or before September 30th of the year in which he/she applies for entrance.
-
Be registered by their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
