Jason Nave
Upper School Principal

Jason Nave serves as the Upper School Principal here at University Christian School after initially fulfilling a role as an assistant principal for the 2010-2011 school year.  He brings a blend of full-time ministry, public school, and Kingdom Education experience with him to University Christian School.

Jason graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education at the secondary level in 2001.  After teaching high school English and coaching football, track, and wrestling for four years, Jason transitioned into full-time ministry with his local church while earning his Master's Degree in Educational Supervision and Administration. For three years, he served his church in several capacities - one of which included a Christian school launch.

In the summer of 2010, Jason and his family moved from East Tennessee to The Sunshine State.  He and his wife, Jaren, have two boys who attend University Christian School.  Additionally, he and his family attend and serve at University Baptist Church.  As a Christian, his calling in life is to positively impact young people for the Kingdom of God.  What better way to fulfill this calling than to work with young students and their mentors each day?

 Upper School

Welcome to University Christian Upper School! Our upper school centers around Truth and Transformation while celebrating our great Tradition. University Christian strives to provide a balanced educational experience in which each child is developed spiritually, academically and socially. Our approach allows students to be well equipped as leaders for the challenges that lie ahead at the college level or within the work force. It is our desire for every student to receive a great education and come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, while growing closer to God through the teaching of His truths.

University Christian offers two different diploma offerings; Standard and Honors (based on credits earned and cumulative GPA). Elective classes are available in a wide range of subject areas from Creative Photography to Psychology.  UCS Middle School maintains a program where grades seven and eight are located in their own environment with staff whose focus is on quality academics and preparedness for future academic success during High School.

Truth

Spiritual development takes place in each classroom and through chapel, mission trips, service opportunities, and student organizations. Biblical principles are integrated into every classroom as teachers incorporate the ultimate source of truth, God's Word, into each lesson. The caring Christian faculty and staff challenge students to think biblically and strive to equip them spiritually as they move forward in life after high school.

Tradition

The ministry of University Christian School is an extension of University Baptist Church. University Christian School has served the Jacksonville area since 1965. We celebrate a great tradition in the classroom as demonstrated by our placement of students in a wide range of colleges and universities such as Liberty University, University of Florida, Florida State University, University of North Florida, University of Georgia, University of South Carolina, The United States Air Force Academy, The United States Naval Academy, The Citadel and over a hundred others.  Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses are as well.

University Christian also maintains a great athletic tradition, with 13 teams participating as members of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). The school has enjoyed tremendous success in its history with over 71 district titles and 11 state championship teams .  University Christian also offers athletic programs for Middle School students during fall, winter & spring seasons.

Transformation

University Christian understands that high school years are the most pivotal times in the life of a young person. We seek for students' lives to be transformed by a real encounter with Christ through his Word. Our staff seeks to assist in the transformation process with the use of our daily bible curriculum, group Bible studies, spiritual life organizations and prayer meetings.

Our purpose is to lay a foundation within the lives of our students that will help them become tomorrow's leaders for Christ
