Director of Guidance

Bruce Weightman is in his 14th year serving the parents and students of University Christian School. Mr. Weightman has formerly
served as a Social Studies and Bible Teacher, Social Studies Department Chair, Director of Guidance, Athletic Director, and Assistant Principal of Upper School. As the 2010-2011 school year begins, he will be serving as the Director of the University Christian On-line Academy and returning as Director of Guidance. During his tenure at University Christian, his son and daughter have graduated from UC and gone on to graduate with honors from the University of Florida and University of North Florida respectively.

Mr. Weightman earned a Bachelor's in History from California Baptist University, completed his Teacher Credentialing program from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, and his Masters in Education from Liberty University. He is committed to providing quality educational experiences for students to prepare them to pursue their goals beyond the halls of University Christian School.

As a life verse, Mr. Weightman is found in II Corinthians 12: 9 and 10, "And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me..for when I am weak, then am I strong."

This great and wonderful promise from the Lord is the focal point of operation for the Guidance Office at University Christian School.  It is our firm belief that the Lord does have a plan for every one of our students.  Whether that plan includes college, trade school, the military or the work force, it is our goal to assist each student in seeking out, finding and following that plan.  That's why I call the Guidance Office the GO Zone.  We want to help each student GO wherever God's calling may lead.
