Les Rainey
Athletic Director

Les Rainey begins his third year at University Christian and his first as Athletic Director.  In his first two years at UC he served as the middle school math teacher.  His athletic responsibilities have included coaching middle school and varsity baseball.  Les has also served on the football coaching staff the past two seasons as the running back coach.

Prior to joining University Christian, Les worked in the front office for the Jacksonville Suns during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.  As Director of Stadium Operations for the Suns organization he helped manage the daily operations of 70 regular season home games, the ACC Baseball Tournament, and multiple college and high school games.

Les attended Thomas University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Masters in Business Administration.  While attending Thomas, he played on the baseball team and later served as the Graduate Assistant for two seasons.  Les and his wife Cheree look forward to continuing to serve in the ministry of University Christian.

Philosophy of UCS Athletics

We believe that athletics are a valuable, vital, and integral part of the education process.  Principles and lessons taught in the school, church, and at home can be put into action on the playing field or court.  Athletics are a microcosm of life and should be used to teach our athletes how to deal with winning and losing, adversity, pressure, perseverance, and the development of true character.
